Group: 3rd Class Primary Up and All Secondary

Criteria: Pupils write a fictional short story (400 words Primary - 800 Secondary limit) using the story starters below or their own imagination. They should also produce an illustrated “cover” for the story. Pupils can work in pairs. The essay will appear on a Sony eBook in the Ilac library. Cover illustrations will appear in black and white. 
 

Closing Date: Friday 16th April 2010

Story Starters:

· There once was a witch called Wanda.

· I looked around me - dazed, confused. Where was I?

· I waited silently, not daring to move, not even to breathe.
